2. Status of Compatibility with the Requirements

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the Accessibility Ordinance (BFV). Compliance is based on a self-assessment in accordance with the criteria of BITV 2.0 / WCAG 2.1 – Level AA.

3. Progress Achieved

We have already taken important steps to improve usability and remove critical barriers:

  • Keyboard navigation: The logical order of tab focus points has been reviewed and optimized to enable coherent navigation for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • A “Skip to content” link is available and works correctly.
  • Color contrast: Various contrast issues have been resolved.

4. Identified Barriers and Ongoing Measures

Non-accessible content

The following issues were identified in the internal audit (WCAG 2.1 AA) and are being addressed with priority:

  • Images/icons within links (e.g. flag icons in the language switcher or product images on category pages) use the same alternative text as the surrounding link. This results in duplicate announcements by screen readers.
  • Some links and buttons – such as wishlist buttons with a heart icon – do not have an accessible name. Screen readers announce these elements only as “button,” leaving their function unclear.
  • The use of forms may be limited for screen reader users.
  • Visible labels of controls (e.g. language switchers or the menu open button) are not fully part of the accessible name. This can prevent correct interpretation by voice control software.

We are working to gradually remove these barriers and continuously improve the website.

Further planned measures

We are committed to remedying the identified issues as quickly as possible. Additional planned steps include:

  1. Media accessibility: Provision of subtitles or transcripts for all videos (mandatory under the BFSG from 2025).
  2. Document accessibility: Ensuring that all provided PDF downloads are available as accessible PDF/UA documents.
  3. Complete keyboard operability: Continuous review to ensure that all interactive elements (navigation, filters, forms) can be operated without a mouse and that the focus state is always visible (e.g. via a blue outline).
  4. Forms: Ensuring that each input field has a visible label and that required fields are clearly marked and properly announced by screen readers.
  5. Continuous auditing: Regular review of the entire domain to continuously ensure WCAG compliance.

5. Preparation and Update of This Statement
